E-Blah Community / Forum Support / Read Messages changing to Unread
Posted by: impished, July 1, 2009, 2:46am
Hi,
I'm using 10.3.6 on a Linux server for my site,
SketchyMTB, and me & my users love it 8), however, quite a few members have found that, occasionally, when clicking "All Unread",
ALL messages show as unread. This has happened to my account too, once or twice.
Any ideas what could be causing this? It's not a deal-breaker, rather just an irritation that would be nice to erradicate.

Can't say I've seen this problem before so hard to suggest why it happened.
It would be good to know if others have experienced this.

I've experienced it too. Seems to be after making some changes but as of yet, I'm not sure what changes have caused it in the past...
I'll keep my eyes open wider in future...

I've also had the problem too, not always after making changes.

It's this:
Days to Keep User Message Display Logs:
Change that to like 360. I don't know what the default is, but if it's 30 that's way too low. :) Just change it to 360. Also, read all the boards and mark them as read from time to time ... this will make it never happen and will also keep your account going quickly as the log is flushed when you do this.

That was one of the 1st things I checked. Still set at 365, like when I installed.
Oh well. Not a biggie. Still love E-Blah 8)

Hmm, that's strange then. :-/ Mark all the boards as read often though and maybe that'll help?
