Before I play with changing the template colors to use for our forum, I want to make sure I have this figured out correctly in my mind.


1 - Do I copy everything in the X2 folder to a new folder in my ftp, rename that and use that for playing or do I only need the template.css in a new folder?
2 - Or should i download a new template and use that one to play with?

I would go to http://www.blahdocs.com and download anything similar to what you want to achieve and use that.
