I recently upgraded to 9.71b but some users have been noticing posts appearing in the IP logged field and the date of that post going to 1970. What could be causing this?

Sounds like your message's .txt file is currupting by not adding a \n to the end of lines.  Did you copy any files into the Messages directory recently?

no i have not touched the msg dir but this happened at the same time as the 4meg search files chewed up all the server space causeing all kinds of message not exsisting errors. I wouldn't think that would case this problem though.

As far as i know all they did was hit reply.

Ah.  What happened then is you probably ran out of space when it was copying and so it truncated the rest of the file.  :-/

I'm going to fix the search error.  I never realized (never thought) it would make files that large.  :(  Very sorry.  :(

Is there anyway i can save the corrupted posts, by manually entering the reply in the msg file?
