E-Blah Community / News / Platinum 9.5 Released
Posted by: Justin, December 3, 2005, 3:44pm
Four years ago a project was started; that project was E-Blah. Over the past four years, E-Blah has become larger and larger in the features it includes -- all while maintaining a strict purpose for speed and reliability with the system. E-Blah has grown from its early days with almost every feature becoming more advanced and easier to use. While other systems are striving for features, neglecting the essence of speed and reliability, E-Blah has always strived to maintain all three traits. Four years after the E-Blah project was officially started, a little over three years after its initial release, we bring you Platinum 9.5.
Platinum 9.5 maintains the strict feature code the Platinum 9 family has introduced, bringing over twenty new features. Some of these new features include:
- Personal calendars
- Easily finding the last message read on a particular topic
- Extensive board permissions which allows Administrators to change almost every permission a board has
- mod_rewrite friendly, along with allowing for bots to better index your forum
- Major speed increases
With this release comes a lot of anticipation from those inside of the community and staff. Without further ado, I would like to introduce you to E-Blah Platinum 9.5.

Members, can now go to their calendar and they'll see the same thing admins see, only it'll only show for them. :)

Alittle nervous to upgrade after reading this? What's the latest?
Also, will my forum's theme stay intact after the upgrade?

It should be fine if you upgrade. The 500 problems aren't widespread and can be fixed by reuploading a P9.2 Admin center to your forum. But I hope to fix this problem soon.

Woot, I liked it. Clean upgrade, only one problem but I sorted it out and I like the new fast features!

I don't know if this is supposed to be like this, but it could be a typo:

Visable to: This post will be visible only to you.
shouldn't it be "Visible to"?
Apart from this: Great work Justin, finally I'll have "Colored Member Links" ;)

I just upgraded to 9.5 and I love it! Looks great. I was real nervous to make the upgrade but went ahead with it. My only concern is that now the users on my forums signatures do not show up anymore. I can't find find any option in the admin center to enable signatures. How do I get signatures back to peoples replies? The address to my forums btw to see what the new version looks like is

Make sure "Maximum characters allowed in Signature" isn't below zero in Admin/Settings.

Unzip it on your local machine and then upload everything inside the forum directory to your server again...but before you do that, what went wrong?
