Sonny,
I checked out your forum and it looks great. Did you have to install Aspell to get spell checking to work, or was it already there? That was the first feature my first tester asked for.

This does require the aspell module, most of the time it is installed by hosts as default.
Check with your host and ask them if it is indeed installed or if they will install it for you.

Here was their (Interlands) answer:
Thank you for contacting technical support regarding your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have Aspell installed in our server. Also, we will not be able to install it for you since you are in a shared server and installing it will affect the other accounts. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your business.
Is there a way to install Aspell in my directory?

Well all I can say is sorry but your host is pants, it will have no affect on anyone else, it's just a dictionary at the end of the day, they are being extremely unreasonable, most hosts install it by default.
As for being able to install it on your site, I'm afraid not, sorry.
The other alternative is the iespell mod but this will only work for your members that use IE

You're wrong. You can use it without it being installed.
Or wait ... is it a Perl module?

You are the expert, maybe you can offer an install for a small fee?
Posted by: Justin, December 29, 2005, 2:40pm; Reply: 23
Is it a Perl module, though? If it is I could.

Nope, it's a seperate executable. You won't be able to use it.

That's why I said it couldn't be installed into his forum, I have tried in the past with no joy.

Sometimes you can still use them, but I'm not sure exactly how. I know I use LAME on this server (for another website), and I had to upload it myself.
