Does anyone know how to make or modify a yahoo audible
Hopefully If someone has them I can follow step by step instructions.
I wouldnt mind using one of their graphics and simply changing the text and adding my own mp3

Yahoo audibles are fairly simple Flash movies. I've tinkered around with them a little bit, but I haven't found any way to send new ones to somebody else in Instant Messenger. You can replace the ones that already exist with new ones, but they remain local...only on your system. If you try to send them to somebody else they just see and hear the original version of the one you replaced. :(

The Audibles are stored in a "protected" format, but there are several utilities available that let you remove the protection and edit them.

I used a similar format to create quite a few "Audio Smiles" that work with E-Blah forum software: ..

If you sent your friends your modified audibles, they could put them in the folder & then they would work as you intended.  I would like to check out your mods...

Weird notions there.  Anyway, audibles sounds and animations are swf files on the yahoo servers...like this one: Anyway, you can download that and open it with internet explorer to view, or get a flash player...it's basically a flash animation.  I saw something on this weird board somewhere about someone wanting to change their audibles.  Copy this to your notepad:

"LastUsedAudibleSet"="base.us.halloween"

Save it as a file with the extension:  .reg  double click it and pick yes.  That'll add it to your registry.  That'll take you back to halloween audibles.  Be sure to put your Yahoo! Sign-in Name where I put the word USERNAME.  All lowercase.  HKEY tells it where to write it in your registry, showaudiblebar tells it to show'em...and well, you can understand plain English right?  It'll switch to halloween.  Make sure you don't have yahoo open...or at least any messages when you do this...won't work otherwise....it'll rewrite the last used audible in the individual message in place of what you just did.  To change your audibles back to any you've used before change the base.us.halloween to anything that says base.us.(whatever) you find in your
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\cache\Audibles\audibles.xml
file.  I can't stress this enough....  You didn't get the swf files from your audibles directory from the people who sent the information to you for an audible to be played...the originally had to come from somewhere right?  Yeah, Yahoo!, and editing them won't change much other than the way you view them personally, because it's just a cache...kinda like your temporary internet files.  Get it?  You can try editing the menu files for yahoo...they are xml files as well...but that's a lil more complicated and I'm done posting. :>  Later

Hi. I've posted a link where i keep the halloween audibles, because there's no way to find them after you've deleted the cache. I've seen that it was deleted and moreover i was banned... can you tell me why???

It seems that there is no way to find them on the internet .. so why was it bad???

Well....Yahoo posted the hidden audibles download.Now i got it.So, if there are on Yahoo servers, what are my chances to post some new ones ?I mean legally ! ;D

I made some audible, uploaded them to some url, modified the registry and put them to recent and added them to the audibles.xml files, but when i open the messenger it says loading to the specified audibles and stay like that.
I have specified the hash code of the file cause is made in SHA-1, but I don't know how the signature is created and I think this is the problem when it tries to download the file from the specified url.
Can anybody help me pls?

There is a way to add more audibles to your yahoo messenger.  However, u you must add those from other yahoo messenger users, unless you can find them somewhere on the internet.  Go to Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\cache\Audibles, you will se an xml file and other files.  First of all you must copy all the files of the audibles u want to use (ex: base.us.valentines.happy_valentines) to that folder; then open the xml file in wordpad and add and save the script (ex: </set>
<set id="base.us.insults" name="Insults" .............).  It's easer to copy the whole script and file from other users than to create one.  Remember to do this while you are not logging in Yahoo Messenger.  Good luck with it. I have about 50 categories of audibles now in my YM :)
