E-Blah Community  /  News  /  Even More Exciting New Features!
Posted by: Justin, January 10, 2004, 10:42am
Now, individual boards allow you to specify the following:

A major new feature that everyone should love, is that E-Blah, started last night, should be fully indexed by Google and other search engines.  As I do not know exactly how the Google bot works, I can't say that it will or won't work.  But I am hoping it will (from what I have read from other sites).

On the board configuration page, there are a lot of new features, so to consolitate space, I made the features hiddens until you, the user, unhide them.

Along with the new features, comes three new bug fixes.  If it was the same month and date (but not the same year), it would still display "Today" as the date on messages a year old.  I have fixed that.  ;D

Also ... I got rid of more calendar bugs.

Finally, a new feature, with an old "bug" -- when you post a message, it will now take you to your lastly posted message.  If this gets to be a problem for some people (you don't like it), I may just get rid of it though.  :)

They've not been released yet.  If you buy an upgrade package ... ;) ... you get the newest sources before they come avalible to the public (as someone has done   ;D).

$40 for unlimited upgrades.  ;)  And I'll be upgrading your site more than 4 times, so it beats the per upgrade price.  ;D

More upgrades I've done:

I am thinking about maybe starting to work on the calendar a bit more, and make it more user friendly -- kinda like the vBulliten calendar -- which costs an arm and a leg for the forum software.  :P  But I might just leave it alone ... the calendar didn't take forever and a day to code ... so it really needs fixing.  Right now it is very buggy (wheather I like to say so or not  ).

Coming Soon!!!

I have decided to recode the calendar -- as many people wanted a nicer one.  ;D  Wait no more!  Tonight I've spent about two hours coding one of the cleanest looking Calendars a forum has seen.  ;D  So far it has week view and month view.

But new features are:

SPANNED EVENTS (;D)
Events with colors (mainly for spanned events)

I may put up a very early alpha up shortly ... check it out if I do!  ;D

http://fpserver.no-ip.com/cgi-bin/mb/Blah.pl?,v=cal
http://www.eblah.com/cgi-bin/bb/Blah.pl?,v=cal,month=1,year=2004 (works too)

There is a problem with the *nix version as of tonight ... I'll be working more on it tommorrow I guess.  *shrug*

That version works better ........
