E-Blah Platinum (RC3) has been released! Go and download it. The change log, if you notice, won't show but about 6 modifications. These modifications are very important, however.
- CSS is now supported!
- Member .dat file reset to nothing bug
- Fixed various Smiley bugs
Hope everyone enjoys the newest RC! The next RC release will probably be the winding down portion of the Platinum project. This means that E-Blah will be closer to Platinum release (final). Please help us in reporting all the bugs in this release. The next release should be out in 1 to 2 months. That means the final should be out in about 4 to 5! :) It's been delayed before though. But as long as I feel it is up to par, it will be released durring the first quarter of 2004!

Hello! I downloaded and installed the wonderful new Platinum Blah. Thank You Very Much. I found one small problem you may want to know of - it seems like just a typo really. The Directory "Blah" downloaded to the cgi-bin (myweb.com/cgi-bin/blah) is capitalized when downloaded, so I sent it up capitalized. The instructions call for the login page to be reach by the lower case "blah." (I.e., "it will be
http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/blah/Blah.pl." )
I do have a problem I have not been able to solve. I can logon and register as everyone but admin using the password given. A message comes back that I have the wrong login. Can you help me with this? The board is located at:
http://www.lightchamber.org/cgi-bin/blah/Blah.pl(I did not have a directory named htdocs, so I made one and placed it in the lightchamber directory; that did not work, so I just put those directories/fiels in the lightchamber directory and the graphics worked. I do not know if this is what is causing me problems logging on as admin or not.
Thanks again for your assistance.

You didn't chmod admin.dat 777, or you didn't upload in ASCII.

Hrmm? A WYSWYG editor would be awesome, that'd be a good mod. :) It'd be on the downloads page probably. hehe

Agreed! A WYSIWYG editor would be an awesome mod(!) and would get my full approval! ;D
Something like this is what you are after:

The problem is, you have to translate the <b> into [b], and all that. That's why I never wrote it. I donno much about that type of stuff. I started on it once, but I gave up (and don't use the thing online, it's a little too much ;)).

Wooo, got it up and running 8). I got two questions though, which hopefully have a simple answer:
1.) How do you get this nifty quick reply box? Is that a setting in RC3?
2.) How do you echo a news page in your index page on your website?
God Bless, great job!

As E-Blah now support CSS, there is a slight change in the HTML coding of the source code. I have updated the MOD to reflect the change so that it is compatible with RC 3
Grab the MOD here:

Ive been working on the WYSIWYG.. yes it will be as good if not better than the link
U might want to support HTML in posts..
take a look at the portal. on the site im workin on i had to readjust the portal. The portal gives you a feature which allows you to limit the number of characters. The tags do not get closed before the limit is reached. can you include some scripting to validate HTML... or (if you want) i can. i think i may have done it b4

If the code is HTML, </code> is added to the end just to close it out. So if you put a ton of <table>'s in your post with NO </tables>'s, you should be fine and only THAT post should be screwed up. Donno how well it works though. :P
