I'm moving my forum from one server to another, and I've copied all of the existing files to the new server and manually updated the settings.pl file. The forum is now running on the new server, except all of the member accounts are "disabled"...

What I mean by "disabled" is that if you (guest) visit the forum and click on the "latest member" link you will see that the member is marked "disabled", and if you view any threads and click on the screen names of the posters you will see that all of those members are marked "disabled".

This is particularly bad because I can not login as Administartor and change anything... I assume that is because the Administrator account is also a member and all member accounts are disabled.

When I try to login I get a password error... I've also tried logging in as two regular members and I get the same error. (I can look at the member.dat files so I know that the passwords I am using are correct.)

I've verified the folder permissions appear to be the same on the old and new servers, so I don't think that is the problem...

There must be someplace in the preference files where the current account status is stored, which I can change manually, but I can't find it...

Can anyone help???

Thanks

have you uploaded your members in ascii mode rather than binary?

Thanks for the reply...

Ascii mode... but I also tried uploading the folder again in binary mode, just to make sure, and there was no change.

Never mind...

I just deleted the new server copy that wasn't working, downloaded the original again, uploaded that to the new server again, and this time it worked.

I must have made an error somewhere the first time... just not sure what it was.

Thanks!
