Sometimes when a member puts a photo on the page goes to wide for the screen and the boxes all go out of alignment.
have i got my settings wrong ?
I allow jpg,gif and maximum upload is .4, i had it set to default but the pic went right off the screen.....

You're confusing file size with image size. They're not the same. That setting is the file size. But a really massive (dimensions) image can be compressed to fit within that limit. You'd need to append max-width:500px to some CSS selector. I can't look right now, but if you really need help, I will do. Lemme know.

You need to give some folders "permissions" this is done via FTP and is know as chmod. If you have set up the forum, then via your FTP client you are able to set up the file permissions,
