Hi  I was uninstalling a mod yesterday afternoon and the forum just disappeared.  I did a test uninstall and was told code was OK.  There were three other users on at the time.  Techs managed to get forum back but it's without login or logout and without theme.  I stupidly didn't do a back-up.  All the messages are there, etc.  It just looks dreadful and it looked beautiful before. I want to try and fix this myself as I'm on a learning curve.  Can anyone advise me on what files to reinstall, or what to try to fix the problem?  I'm an idiot, I know, for not backing up.  Roberta

Does it say "Theme not found!" at the top?

If so, it's possible that the theme's still there, just not in the right place or the path to it is wrong. Do you have a link?

There are no mods that I know of that would do that on un-install, what mod was it?

Hi.  No, it's very odd.  It doesn't say theme not found at the top at all.  I was using the html owner only mod and it was working fine until I noticed yesterday morning that it had gone odd, in that the code was showing instead of option a, b, c, etc. I tried changing my post with the options, etc. in case that was wrong but it wasn't and checked out fine in IE and html programs.  So I thought I'd uninstall it the reinstall it to see if that worked.  I got as far test install, code OK when everything crashed.  The forum just disappeared.  The techs said they found something in routines.pl line 183 or line 187 and fixed that so the forum came back but no theme and the log in and log out is missing.  I've had a look round here and wondered whether to try and upload load.pl or blah.pl but thought I'd ask on here first.  I can still ftp and I'm still logged in as admin but there's no settings or admin area??!!

Who are these "techs"? They got the forum back but it could have been something they did that's caused it to be "themeless"...

You're going to have to provide a link and/or PM me admin account details so I can take a look...

Hi  Have PMd you some details.  I doubt it's the techs though as the account is on a VPS which they tend to leave alone and they only got involved after the forum went kaput and disappeared into thin air.

All fixed.

The mod might have uninstalled incorrectly, so which mod was it so we can check it's ok? Do you have an exact link to the one you installed?

The problem was in Routines.pl. The techs got the forum back but Routines.pl was still partially broken, not their fault...

I'd backup Routines.pl now and do a full backup while you're at it.

Hi, WOW THANK YOU!  The forum is back up and running and I'm so chuffed.  I thought of reuploading routines.pl then decided against it as I thought it might actually be something that adds bits as per use of the forum.  I had a look at what the tech said he had done but it didn't make sense to me.  The mod I was unisntalling was EnableHTMLforadminonly.v2m  I'm not sure what happened with it.  I had an options section ABCDetc which was working fine that I posted using the mod.  Then the other day I noticed that it had suddenly reverted to code on the forum.  I deleted the post, reposted after checking the code but it still came up in HTML.  So I decided to uninstall the module - did a test uninstall which said codeOK and then kaput - it all went.  I'm not sure what went wrong except I had previously changed the upload preferences to allow some html code ad thought that maybe one had cancelled out the other.  A million thanks.  Roberta
