Have a look at -> http://www.eblah.com/forum/m-1211527480/ You can download the "portal Button" mod and install it.

Or you could make your own and add it, have a look at one of my forums where I have done that -> http://www.minilabhelp.com/forum/Blah.pl

It will depend on your server configuration. Have you read the readme file that comes with the mod, as it will give the instructions you are looking for. It needs to go into the mods directory upload in ASCII mode, but upload that actual image in binary mode.

The instructions state:

Installation

1.  ftp onto your server and upload PortalButton.v2m in ASCII to your Mods folder.

It is not clear which folder this is in - so I put it in the /cgi-bin/forum/Mods

3.  Upload the 2 gif files in BINARY to the appropriate folders.

There are no gif files only a png file. Do they go in /blahdocs/buttons/icons  ?

4.  Make a backup copy of Admin2.pl, Routines.pl and English.lng

I copied Admin2.pl and /cgi-bin/forum/Code/Routines.pl /cgi-bin/forum/Languages/English.lng

5.  Login to the Admin Center - Modification Center and you should see the Portal Button mod

The Portal Button mod is there

6.  Carry out a test install.

I carried out a test install, the  test report says that 'This mod has been (un)installed successfully.' but I cannot see the button in the forum top menu.

7.  If all OK then install it.

I tried this just in case but still not there.

question:
You might try this thread--the last few replies in particular:  http://www.eblah.com/forum/m-1251767106.36647/s-13/#num13
If I'm remembering correctly, you have to manually add the portal button .png file to every theme that you have enabled for your forum, with the exception of the default theme.
