Hi,
I have just tried to create my first bulletin board using E-Blah, and although I have managed to install it, have several queries.

I have had problems when I select encrypt password.  When I tried logging back on, I had a message telling me to change my password, which I did but that failed and I then couldn’t log on (as administrator) with either the old or new password.  I deleted all the files and started again, but the same thing happened again. Can anyone suggest what the problem is, and explain the implications of not encrypting passwords.

I have now started again, but haven’t encrypted password. However, I did set the flag for new members to have to validate but when I created tried registering as a member and followed the link in the email, I got a 404 Error.  So I have had to change that as well

I would also like to know how (if it’s possible) to add a welcome message to the forum on the home page, or do I need to build a page with the message and a link to the forum?

Is it possible for users to avoid revealing their email addresses to other users?  IE how do we restrict contact to PM?

Can anyone suggest a simple user guide to using the forum for new members, please?

Thanks
