I have an annoying issue with e mail notifications on my forums. I've had several members repot that when they change their e mail adddress they no longer recieve notifications of new replies to posts, etc. Same thing has happended to me when I tried it...

I'm figuring it's probably due to server settings being wrong and not updating but I'm not sure what the correct setting is or ever where to look at this point.

Any help would be very gratefully received at thsi point...

Regards,
Jenne

New one on me, I just changed my email on my test board and still get notifications.

Try deselecting notifications, saving and then reselect.

Does your email work correctly otherwise?

Yep the email seems to be working fine Martin.  I tried deselecting notifications and reselecting/saving. No dice as far as I can tell. This is not a new problem which makes me think it's file pemissions but as I say I have no idea which file controls this.

Thanks,
Jenne

It won't be server settings or permissions as none of the email functions would work.

Get the affected members to make sure that there providers email spam filter isn't stopping them.

Hi Justin

I am a newbe here however this is in regards to email notification.

How can I change the content of the new thread notification email that is sent out.
When I Installed it  I changed the default forum address to xxx/eblah

so the above address should be http://xxx.co.uk/xxx/Blah.pl?m-1263831142/ for my ticket and it appears as http://xxx.co.uk/Blah.pl?m-1263831142/

Due to my firewall any raw http:// address in the email gets flagged up as spam so I would really like to doctor the email that is sent to just have the topic and the main thread rather than the link - which doesn't work anyway.

The subject of the new email contains the subject of the new thread and I would like to simply have this in the body of the email instead so at least the viewers could see that.

many thanks for your input

Seamus
