Hiya people ,
I'm new to all this and its a very steep learning curve .
Found you via a free package with Heart (yes iCONICA-i have read they are not your favourites), and must admit when i suddenly lost any association between  my http://www.myname.orh.uk and myname.org.uk without me going near any DNS preferences or CNAME etc , then i was stating to worry .
Starting a forum for Citizens Advice Social policy people to be able to highlight issues in Kent to each other . It will be a small forum and closed in effect , with pre validation (after reading through all the advice on here ) Thanks to this forum i also discovered that Heart didnt install all the URL's correctly (notably Blahdocs path) that was fun to work out , but seeing as the paths are Key to the set up then it was the first port of call to some of the errors .
Seems to work ok at the moment but am soak testing before revealing all to the public (well the CAB social policy people -including me )
Next thing to do for me is look at sessions , but rest assured i will be delving further in this forum and just playing before i even ask a question --

Again --just to say thanks to all the people here you have been tremendous help without even knowing it --

You will be fine with Heart... They do have a few quirks, and limitations, but you will have no major issues.

I have had an account with Heart for many years and do all my testing and programing with that account and I've never had a problem.

Well apart from the association problem . must say any newbie questions ive had to them have been answered fully and quickly and i have only got the freebie acouunt tostart so i can have a play -- ,and i must admit im impressed by the service on a free account (though 100 Mb bandwidth is getting reached just in testing and playing about) -hehe -i feel a next level upgrade comming up -- Have also downloaded Xampp to have a play too as i am eternally curious. Im doing ok seeing as i was bought up on the sinclair ZX81 --hehe

Nothing wrong with the ZX81.. I do have a a Spectrum in my attic   Heart, like any host does have quirky moments, and some claims they do like "unlimited bandwidth" could be challenged... But overall yup no major issues

Off topic I know, but I dislike hosts that state unlimited bandwidth. My current host does, but i've never exceeded that... My old host boasted unlimited bandwidth, which while hosting updates for Spybot Search & Destroy, ontop of my traffic i "overloaded" their servers and was taken off line. I've had my fair share of bad hosts, everyone has good and bad experiences with hosts.

But anyway. Here's an "on topic" thread for this. http://www.eblah.com/forum/m-1242839011.64898/
