It seems that in the snap of a finger my forum has stopped working like it used to.  This happened about two weeks ago, literally worked one second and then stopped the next.  My forum loads incredibly slow now, like painfully slow.  Some of my sub forums won't even load anymore.  I've poked around the Admin center, rebuilt the boards, and still nothing.  I've contacted my hosting company and they said there is nothing wrong with the server or Perl and that the error is in the code.  I'm still running E-Blah 9.6.  For those wondering why I'm still running 9.6, it's because I'm using a theme that isn't supported by newer versions and I've seamlessly laced this theme into my whole website.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

The forum itself loads no problem.  It's within the forum is where the troubles start.  Load times are very slow.  This is an example of a sub-forum that won't even load anymore.  http://www.capitaljeeps.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?b-3/

I can't load it to even look inside it yet, so I will ask as opposed to waiting... how many threads show per page? I know that you have a large amount to show per page it will put quite the load on the server having to download so much information.

Even if you had hundreds of theads shown per category page it wouldn't take that long to load...

Do you have access to the server resource usage?

Have you tried rebuilding all boards, etc...?

Are your paths relative or absolute in the settings?

None of the above should cause things to be that slow alone, but those are all I can initially think of...

Do you have access to the server resource usage?  Yes.  I'm no where near my quota.  It's a relatively low traffic website.

Ideally, these would be relative, but again, can't see it causing loading times like these.

"Do you have access to the server resource usage?  Yes.  I'm no where near my quota.  It's a relatively low traffic website." I wasn't referring to the amount of space used or traffic, I mean the server and memory usage. E-Blah is famous for using virtually nothing, yet It has been known for slightly damaged scripts to use huge amounts of resources. Unlikely though.

If you want to PM me details of an admin account, I could take a peep over your settings, make sure everything checks out...

Seems a little mysterious this....

Whoa...
Looking at your code you have <area shape="rect" coords="15, 85, 80, 110" href="http://www.capitaljeeps.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl">
which could be causing problems... I'd remove that and see...

Why would this cause problems?  That's a portion of code from the image mapping on my website's header.  It directs the "Forum" button at the top of my page to my message board.

It could be possible that it's related to something in your template that's slowing the load times in your forum. I would see about setting your default template to X2 and see if the problem persists. If it does, then further troubleshooting will be required. Otherwise, you'll need to have your template looked at to fix the problem. I hope this helps.

I just tried switching to the original template and it is still having the same issues.

Sorry, I was extremely tired and made an oopsie...

The offer to take a look around your settings, making sure everything looks ok still stands.
If it's definitely  not a server issue, then try uploading a new, test forum at /test/, then post a test thread on that to see if the problem persists.
Failing that, someone would have to download your forum, upload it to their server and see if the problem persists.
