I am getting this message once i completed the Registration procress........

The url to your site that you posted here is wrong. It should be http://yuvarathna.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl You have something wrong with the way your mail process is set up. I get the error below if I try to register. I do not get a gateway error.

The easiest way to solve this, is to select sendmail. It's flawless. Providing the path to it is correct and it's installed on your server, (both about 90% probability) then use sendmail. SMTP servers are only useful if you have tremendous amounts of emails to be sent or you don't have sendmail.
