I run a group where people are encouraged to use aliases.  They sometimes use those aliases as their names on the forums, but sometimes use completely different names on the forums.  I need to know who people are as a moderator, and sometimes this is really tough.
Is there a way to add a field to the registration process where someone puts in their real name, even if it's only viewable by the moderators (or they can choose to make it viewable only to the moderators)?

The second one is, we've started using the calendar to track our events.  It's a great tool.  We have a weekly practice and then a monthly (or semi-monthly) event.  When we have an event, it replaces the practice for that week.  I have the practice in as a repeating occurrence.  When I add the events, they show up next to the practices, and this has left newer members confused.
Is there a way to cancel only one week of recurring event?  I know the calendar isn't the primary feature, but this would be nice.

Thanks,
Rich

I am after an extra field in registration too that would also show up on the quick profile on the forums.

Is this possible? Needed for several forums I will be adding soon. Hey its good to be back on eblah!

There is already an Extra Registration Field mod, I'll look it up and post the link.

I know this is old, and I'm not one to typically necro-post, but I figure sometimes it's better than starting a new thread.

I was wondering if I could get someone (either Justin or Martin or someone else on the team) to update my forum to the latest version while also modding it so that
  • all names can have spaces in them (I posted about this elsewhere (http://www.eblah.com/forum/m-1234187041.58731/s-0/#num0))
  • registration adds a required field as mentioned above
  • if possible, mod the calendar as mentioned above
  • if possible, add pdf files as an allowed file type to be attached to a post

I'd be more than happy to pay for the update, and pay more for these mods.  It's something I could do myself, if I had the spare time to devote to it, but running the group that I use the forums for, is keeping me busy enough on it's own.

I'm currrently running version 10.3.5 with a customized skin by Martin (a little tweaked by me).

Thanks

add pdf files as an allowed file type to be attached to a post

Well that's simple enough, just add .pdf to the allowed file types in settings.

Wow!  That was incredibly easy.    Thanks for the heads up on that one.  I've had the forum up long enough now that I haven't gone through and looked at settings in ages, so I was clueless on that one.
