does anyone know if there is a stock ticker symbol mod avilable? or if one can be created, I would like my users to be able to look up a ticker symbol from any of the boards that their in.

I'm hoping that it won't be a link to say 'yahoo or msm', I like them to be able to put the symbol in and the infomation show up another page that they can close and not have to leave the board.

I like to be able to do all the boards "nyse" "amex" "otc" and "pink sheets"

Not quite understanding what you require here.
Are these just links to external sites or personal accounts as in yahoo or msn?
Would you want these onthe mainpage or in the Members Panel?

I know I'm not doing a good job of explaining this, So sorry.

I want it on the members panel, like on the same line as 'community' but all the way to the right hand side.

I would like them to be able to input a ticker symbol (ie: NFLX) and a new smaller window would appear (a popup window) with the trading information about that company, just like yahoo, when you type in the symbol it takes you to the stock's information page.

Like yahoo? Could you provide Martin a link to where that example is shown? Looking at that may make it clearer what's required.  

I'm pretty sure I know what you mean, but it sounds like it'd need AJAX to handle the user input of the stock and get back the real time results from the server... AJAX isn't something I'm very good with...  
Martin's 250% my age so it's likely he'll have a better understanding of it than me...

No, He's looking for a mod to display his own version of the blue bar you see on the yahoo page.
So it'll have a search box, when a stock is entered, it'll show a box of the latest results on that stock.
Running underneath or above the main forum menu bar...

This. I think.   sounds quite elaborate though to me...

if it is too elaborate, I'll entertain any suggestions or ideas.
I'm just looking to set my forum far apart and above all the other stock forums.
my lack of knowledge of what goes into creating the things I'm looking for, is a good reason to sit me down and tell me the facts of creating these things.
I have full knowledge that each of you have your own lives to live, and can't just drop everything just to create something that I think would make my board the best, if what I'm seeking is too elaborate, than I'll lower my expectations until I can afford to pay someone here to spend the time creating what I'm looking for, but until then, I'll be happy taking what I can get.
I'm already super happy with the board itself, and I have friends asking me to create a forum for them as well. ( and all I know is the basic install   and I may not have pass that one without Iconica's help)

Any reason why you want it in the Members profile page rather than on the front screen?

sorry if i gave you that impression, not in the members profile, but on the front screen, I would like it so that what ever board their in reading or posting it's right there so if they want to check a stock they don't have to go to a certian page for it, like on here no matter what page I go to, the top buttons are there (home - features - download - demo - support - community) it would be on the same line, just over to the far right.

Putting in a popup is causing problems, too much info on the pages that are linked to.
