Hi
I am new to Eblah and are very excited about the forum. I just wondered why is it that on the General board some topics show as redirect and others i can post info on.  Why can't I post info on all topics. And why does it show that posts are not available, although i would like to post but are not able to.

I would appreciate it if anybody can help me in the right direction and if I am posting this at the wrong place, I am sorry, but where should I go for help then.
the website is http://significant-income.com/forum/Blah.pl and you will see what i mean by unavailable and redirect.

Thanks

The redirected boards are set up just as links to other places. So a board called "downloads" could redirect you to a download page which isn't a part of the forum. They're not boards, there is no content on them.

That helps a bit, but how do I change it or create a board where I can post info, or did I set it up incorrectly. I can't figure out where I went wrong, and I looked through the Support but can't find the answer.  Do I need to delete the redirect boards and start over?

Why does it ask for a password and where would I change that?

Whoa oh your setting up the forum? I thought you meant just navigating an existing one.

If you've set up a redirect, then you'd have to delete the redirect. You don't have to delete the board, Just remove the redirect and your golden. Once there is no redirect, you'll be able to post things on that board, aslong as some other settings are correct. I'll take a look for you if you get really stuck. It asks for a password if you want it to be private, Handing out the password to users via pm for instance. But not all fields have to be filled in. Those are options not necessities...

Maybe I should start at the beginning. Where can I find guidelines as to how to set up the forum?

I have tried to set up but either I created a category with a password, or it states that "You do not have the right credentials to view this board, or there is no board to be found. If you are a guest, you may have to register before any forums are available."  I did change the chmond to 777 but still I get this message.

Thanks

There is no guide on how to make boards and catagories, that's generally considered common sense... Sorry your having troubles..

If you like, PM me details of an admin account on your forum and a list of boards you want and who you'd want to be able to access/post/upload etc.. on each. I'll sort em for ya.

You only have to worry about CHMODing things correctly when installing the forum. It's not needed from then onwards. I'd leave CHMOD well alone..
