I'm right at the start of my investigation, and I've logged onto your demo forum. What I'm stuck on, is creating a hyperlink. I must be missing something! because when I press this yperlink button, I get two "url /url" tags in square brackets - and for the life of me I can't work out how to create a link.

Here's a naked HTML URL: http://www.verticalwire.com/re.....germany/images/10592

It's lego art, by the way.

As far as I can tell, that's clickable. If I put the same URL into your two square bracket tags as follows:
http://www.verticalwire.com/re.....germany/images/10592
it seems to appear in the final posting EXACTLY the same as if I hadn't.

I'm not getting any option to include the text of the hyperlink. Where can I find instructions, please?

G

Auto Link URLs is an option in the software. If it's checkmarked, it will autolink in posts without needing the [ URL ] tags.

If you want to create different text:
[ url=www.yourwebsite] type your text here [ /URL]
(take out the spaces before url and /url - I had to add them so you can see what I typed)

Sample:
Eblah home page

If you want to create ordinary html hyperlinks like <a href="http://url.com">Name of link</a> Then you need to enable html in posts. That's done in settings. But those settings have been removed from the test forum for security.

Go to my forum, You can test it there. I'll delete your post if it's just a test afterwards. You can make ordinary html hyperlinks in my forum because i have the setting enabled.

Here you can only paste a clickable link. But not hide the url and name it like html can.

I did it the way jezznib said: read back? It's a link, but not an HTML link, that's all. It's an E-Blah link!

Here's another one, if you like: my professional web site at NewsWireless.
