I had no problems with Eblah for over a year, this morning I go to log in from several computers and I get this message

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be? Does anyone know where to locate the error log?

Thanks!
Larry

Try reuploading Blah.pl and make sure it is chmod 755
Also check that your host hasn't got any problems.
If you get no joy then pm me new ftp details if you want me to take a look.

Thanks Martin, after uploading a fresh blah.pl I did some investigation at my service provider and found that there is a ticket opened against my account for suspended CGI.
That would be the culprit - I responded as to when I can expect CGI to be fixed, and am waiting on an answer.
Gee I never had these issues when I ran my own server out of my basement! LOL.
I will keep you posted and thanks for your help.

Apparently something is wrong with the script Blah.pl? Is it possible?

We have noticed that the script ‘public_html/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl’ is overloading the servers. Hence, we have suspended the CGI services for your account. Please remove or correct the script and get back to us so that we could revoke the suspension.

I find this hard to believe, there are hundreds of forums out there using EBlah without any problems.
I've made a few changes to Blah.pl anyway and I'm testing now.

My provider is ipowerweb.com - I told them the exact same think being in he IT industry myself for a large finacial institution in The Northeast and canada.
They have turned my cgi back on but only after I removed the Blah.pl script which I have added back in and set max users to be 12 for the time being. Is there away to set an auto log off time after so many minutes of inactivity? That would be cool.

Hi Larry, sorry I have not heard of ipowerweb.com Are you running the latest version of eblah? or an older version. If you are running an older version, then maybe do an upgrade.

We saw similar problems with <heartinternet> a while back.

If you still have problems, e-mail me your FTP information and I'll see if there's anything that should be changed.

Make certain that you have DISABLED click logging, if you haven't already.  That's one of the main things that causes issues.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.
