Hi
Before the upgrade members had to validate thenselves but before posting, Admins also had to validate their account. It seems now that users are able to validate themselves and can get straight in and post!

There is a drop down menu option in settings to change that.

It's set as validate by email and admin, the board settings don't allow validating members to post, but this member self validated and posted. Only occured since upgrade to latest version. Is this a bug?

Go to Admin/Boards and Categories and turn off Validating members from posting.

Another member has managed to get straight into the forum and has access to posting etc.
We tried joining using a hotmail address and it lets members have access straight away.
Could this be the upgrade?

Definately not a bug, I just set the board permissions, validation via email & administrator, joined, validated via email but not administrator and I can't post or reply.

Double check your board permissions.

I'm also having issues with non validated members having permission to post. Where are all the settings that I need to change? I'm using 10.3.5.

- Boards & Categories
-- Change the main group (I selected all the Member groups (which includes admins and the post count groups) but none of the Non-Member groups)
-- Change the individual boards (I marked all the check boxes for Member groups but removed the checkbox for all Non-Member groups)

I have it set up that accounts need validation by email and admin. Guests are not allowed to view the board. Once the guest registers, it's letting them view & post immediately. The only thing non-validated members are lacking is access to the search feature and the member center.

Use the non group options only. If you select group options then a validating member will be included in the lowest post count group.
