Hi

Since we upgarded to earlier this year, we've had a problem with the RSS feed. Basically it is not showing any content:

eg. http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/eblah/v-shownews/a-feed/c-TV/

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

cheers,
Glen

In the setting at the bottom of your settings page. Have you selected all the boards you want to be "News" boards? Because your latest forum activity shows in RSS.

btw WOW how did you get your forum so popular?

Hmm I went to Forum Settings > Board Modifications > and selected all News Boards (plus 10 Items to Display / 100 Text Length).

The above link now goes to a page not found. What could we be doing wrong?

EDIT - ok this looks like a bug. In Internet Explorer, all RSS pages are Not Found (The following tags were not closed: rss, channel. Line: 0 Character: 0). But in Mozilla Firefox, RSS displays correctly. Is this a known issue?

ps. Our forums have been running for many years now... so yes, quite busy.

cheers,
Glen

Not that. go in the main full settings and make sure the news box is ticked, see screenshot. Mine is unticked.

EDIT: I don't think its a bug in E-Blah. I think its just internet explorer... Firefox is very forgiving... Firefox shows a blank RSS IE just shows a nice big error to embarrass you....

and yeah... domain age plays a big part with search engines too they consider it a better quality site. (more likely to have good content if its been up that long...)

Thanks for your reply, but that option is for displaying news items on the main forum page. It doesn't affect the correct displaying of the RSS feed, which is what we want.

I might try exploring into the code to see why IE doesn't like the RSS format.
