What is the best method of adding my own smilies library for my users?  I feel I'm missing something obvious has been a long couple of days... great software by the way.

Cheers
Dave

Hi

Make a folder and call it whatever you want. Put your smilies in there.  Upload that to your public_html where you have your blahdocs folder.  Inside that is a Smilies folder; expand that and upload your folder with the smilies in it.  Now go to your Admin and extra smiley code.  At the bottom is where you will add all your new smilies.

Hope this helps!

Have A Wonderful Day!

Hi Marie

That method is ok... but it seems to be ideal for adding one smiley at a time.

What I'm looking for is the best method of adding multiple smilies or a library... there must be a data file that can be modified quickly.

I'll have a search around for it.

Cheers
Dave

You would need to create a smiley pack. Download the zip from this thread and it will show you the format.

http://www.eblah.com/forum/m-1133599257/

Smiley folder goes into /blahdocs/Smilies  and the .smp file goes into your /forum/Mods folder

Hi Martin

Thanks for getting back to me.  I downloaded the file: crez_smileys_4262.zip

I wasn't able to unzip it.  I'm using a Mac / OSX... not sure if that is the problem.

That said, I have now added my own series of smilies... so job done.

Cheers all the same......

Nice and easy app you folks have created here... like the speed and simplicity.  Found it via HotScripts a few days ago.  Once i've finished my tests etc... I'm gonna use it as a customer support forum too.... as well as a few others.

I'll be pestering you with a few more questions over the coming weeks...  whilst wondering how the hell you make it pay...

Many thanks
Dave

Thats winRAR the famous compression decompression program. It's available for windows/ linux and mac os too...

You said you couldn't uncompress it because your using mac and mac doesn't decompress that format. WinRAR will decompress pretty much anything.

No worries mate... have stuffit expander... I'm guessing there's either a compatibility issue with whatever is in the zipped file, or it is corrupting on my machine.  Job is now done.

But thanks for the tip.

Dave
