i tried ro install the forum but got following msg

On a windows server, I'm not great with that, but i'm sure connecting to localhost. i.e. typing "http://localhost" into your browser should show you your root file path.

If so then you can open "Settings.pl" and edit all those paths to suit.

That's usually an error with either the directory path or the url to the template directory.

To get to admin panel if your buttons don't exist, change

Blah.pl

to

Blah.pl?v-admin/

at the end of the url in your browser, that will take you to your admin panel. You can access settings to check your paths from there, or access the themes panel to "search for new themes"...
