Due to the problems I've had with my website host, I have decided to go with a different one.  I moved the public_html and the CGI files over to the new server and then realized this probably was not a wise choice as there undoubtably would be path problems.  In checking the files, sure enough, everything points to the old server.

So what is my best course of action?  Please keep it simple as my knowlege in this area is extreemly limited.

Thanks in advance for any help....
Bill

Download and unzip the attached.
Upload to your cgi-bin folder in ASCII.
CHMOD it to 755.

Now run it and it will tell you your DOCUMENT_ROOT.

I uploaded it and chmod to 755 and this is what I get:

#! /usr/bin/perl print "Content-type:text/html\n\n"; print "\n\n"; print "\n"; print "
perl is working.

\n"; print "";

Now what?

Martin, I screwed up.  I edited the file vs running it as you told me to do.  I ended up excuting the file and it gave me a screen of all kinds of info that I don't have a clue what it is. here is the link to run the program.  Maybe it make since to you but not to me.

You might wanna delete that "perlinfo.pl" file btw. Don't wanna give everyone access to extensive server info... Just a thought

From what I can see, you don't have perl on this new host.
This link you gave earlier: http://subasepearldet716.freehosting.net/cgi/perlinfo.pl is to your old host, what is the name of your new host?
