Just a thought not sure if it would be feasible. I use exchange banners on my site to help promote it not sure if this works mind you but it does increase brand awareness. I remember a post on here somewhere can't find it now though about ways to promote eblah.

Perhaps an add on maybe 20pix high randomised banner promoting other eblah forums there are some really good ones out there. Perhaps near the lower end of the forum so as it would be unobtrusive. As I said before not sure if this would be feasible but I'm sure it would help promote eblah by showing what people have done with their forums and how flexible it is.

It depends which kind of helping promote other eblah forums your talking about, It's a wonderful idea but if you have a image banner that rotates different banners using a javascript that will be for the benefit of the forum users, But not of any use to the search engine bots. If you included a permanent text link to their sites you'd be helping them much more, by giving them an invaluable one way link. These are even better when the site the link is coming from is related so if you included a text link to another pub forum you'd be helping them alot in terms of the way search engines would see their site.

Not much point linking to me in that way though because our sites have very different/unrelated content.

If you want to link to unrelated sites such as mine or others then a rotating banner would be the best way to help them, If you want to link to related pub sites then a text link would be the better way to help them.

As for where to put these text links I'd say they'd go near the bottom of template.html but i could be wrong. (usually are   )
To put banners or text links between posts you'd use the ad-code box in settings.
