I do not understand the "Ad code Box" or the "How Many Ad's to Show" box.  in Main Preferences

I dont either!
Reading what info there is on the subject in these forums, I'm none the wiser!

Is it possible to see an example of what you call 'Ad Code' as well as screeny of the resulting display??

As a programmer I know I can just go into the templates and other files and add appropriate code, but if the either of these setup functions helps make things easier, it makes sense to use them.

regards
Duncan

This is for your Google ads.

Search the forum for Google adsense ads to find the previous postings

Correct, for either google ads or pretty much any ad units. They don't work very well with "auto rotation" scripts though, no JS just html normal ad code such as the google adsence code!

TIP: If your going to put a few ads in that box just put a new ad code per line. But it works best with a few narrow ads like 234X60 works well. If you use longer ads, only use one, they "wrap" really badly leaving messy spaces on smaller screen resolutions.

Ta for the responses! have a clearer idea now.

BTW another small problem that Martin might be able to help with as he's the author.
Re : WoW Theme
Im using the theme for on of my web sites - most every thing is running fine.
One thing that seems to need tweaking.
When the forum first loads up and the page is buit - the main (default WoW graphic that depicts the front of StormWind or Ogrimmar or BC) does not load up to view. However if you select one of the three theme buttons it does and thereafter ( when going into admain and back it does fire up properly). Any thoughts as to what might need looking at?? Its possible that I've inadvertantly adjusted something!

I know its a long shot

thanks again all

I'll take a look at the code and get back to you.

Tested thoroughly in IE7 and FF2 on my test site, I can't replicate your problem.

To tie it down a bit more - the corresponding theme lines ( red, green, blue )throughout the forum dont appear at load up. Only after theme selection and there after ! wierd! Now I have been twiddling a few params in the style sheets, so it may be that ive nerfed something! Ill keep looking.

Update:
May have to do a complete re-install of all software to see if above prob persists.
Also when testing theme on various machines and resolutions a further anomoly has appeared.
At 1280x800 (my laptop res) the left gryphon now appears centered over the WoW Logo in the center?
If you can point me to the relevant piece of code / css / whatever, that effects this positioning I should be able to check its validity!

Martin to try to replicate Duncan's problem, the firefox addon "web developer toolbar" is useful. you can resize your browser to any screen res. If your not already using something like that....
