I was just reading some posts and ran across a strange one. It is probably the way my computer interprets the text. Below is what I am seeing: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remember how frustrating it was to work your butt off to get good evals, studying long hours for the test and then taking the test only to discover when the test results came back that you were PNA’d again? Well I have made it easy to make rate on this Forum. When you first log onto the site before registering an account and posting a message or following a thread of a previously posted message you are a Low Life Seaman Recruit. To advance in rate all the way to Seaman, all you have to do is register and post one message or add your comments to a previously posted message and you are automatically advanced to E-3. See how easy that was? Want to move into the leadership role and make Petty Officer? Post four more messages and you sew on the Crow. To advance to Chief takes a little more work but you need not worry about being PNA’d. The rate is always wide open. It takes a total of 25 posted messages to become CPO. The highest rate you can achieve is Officer. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to do this, but if it is your desire to become an Officer, all you need to do is stay active and post a lot of messages. It will take a total of 50 messages before you receive your commission. So get busy and register an account (painless) and start posting messages or follow a thread so you can join me at the Acey-Duecy Club. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The three words that are strange all have an apostophe in them and that is where I get the odd symbols. Any thoughts? If you wish to view it on my forum, here is the link http://subasepearldet716.freehosting.net/cgi/forum/Blah.pl? and it is the thread in the Making Rate board. |

Yes the theme is new. Martin disigned it for me and it was installed before I logged on this morning. |

Or, you could use HTML syntax for your single quote. It is a problem with either your character set, or your font. In this case the single quote is not being generated, it is resulting to (’). For a temporary solution you should use HTML codes:
|
Code
‘ ‘ left single quote
’ ’ right single quote
' ' apostrophe
` ` grave accent
´ ´ ´ acute accent |
