I am using the latest E-Blah on my website and I just changed my skin to one I downloaded just for a change. This new skin would be the only skin I have so no multiple skins to choose from. The old skin was deleted from E-Blah. Anyway all went well. New skin upgraded without a hitch. changed the top logo to match my website and a few other minor mods. I then  noticed the the smiley template did not change over from the old skin. Now when I go to template manager in my E-Blah admin control panel, and click on smiley template, it shows the new template and I can save it. I know it is not my browser caching as I have tried several browsers. Anybody know any reason why the Smiley template did not change over and how do I change it or look in some template or code somewhere to see where E-Blah is pulling the old template from?

If more specific info is needed, let me know.

There will be a smilies.html in the theme folder, replace it with the one from the downloaded Eblah version you are using.

If you downloaded the theme from blahdocs, these have not been updated and are for pre 10.3

The original skin I had was a skin made prior to 3.5 but worked. It was one I downloaded when I 1st started using E-Blah in it's platinum days. Never had a skinning issue. Well I did have one when the 10 series came out when the whole skin part was rewritten but I rewrote my skin and updated it for E-Blah 10.x and it worked again. Now when I changed the skin to this new one (yes I downloaded it from Blah-docs), no issues occurred except the Smiles template still shows the old skin I was uisng. I have updated all smiles.html  and templates on my website manually and via the E-Blah admin control panel, but to no avail. Is there some weird reason why the old smiles template or html became hardwired in my E-Blah, and is there a way to change it? I know it is not browser cache unless E-Blah is caching itself. Thanks for the Reply Martin, as little as I post here (only when I have weird issues like this), you have always been helpful. So among those lines if anybody has any suggestions further as to what to do, that would be appreciated. If Martin is correct, until some thing (E-Blah itself ) or the skin I downloaded from Blah-Docs gets updated to fix this issue and in the mean time I am stuck as they say, then no big deal. It just looks slightly odd that when you click on the add ore smiles link in my BBS that whatever pops up does not match the rest of my BBS at all. Again, I just want to be sure if there is really anything I can do, and have my E-Blah BBS look uniform skin wise. Again thanks for whoever replies and helps.

The style should be the sames as your main theme but just in case I have attached a Smilies.html

Download, unzip, upload to your template/theme folder.

Thanks I'll try that and see how it goes see if for some reason this smiles.html works better and makes the old skin go away. I'll post here either way when I attempt this sometime this weekend.

Also another weird thing. Not sure if this is skinning specific but.... in the admin panel under members groups I have star setup: as other then a link to an image I want to use. In my old skin it worked but in my new skin, the images do not show up at all. I did not change any settings or paths. Is that something with the skin template? new updated to the latest build? Just curious. Thanks.

Thanks Martin. I fixed one of the issues on my own. the issue with the images not showing up under my avatar was because I loaded the images to the wrong image folder. I didn't load them to the image folder that is under my theme in the templates folder. Now if I can only figure out why the smiles.htm or whatever it's called page when you click on view more smiles is caching from an older no longer used skin, then that would be great. Again thanks for your help. I am always reluctant on FTP access. especially since I don't own the site, just administer it. If that is necessary to see why the smiles.htm page is caching then I'll take it from there. So far I have deleted and replaced every smiles.htm or whatever it is called page I know of on my website. This again is not a big deal but if I can get this fixed, great.

Ok fixed the theme issue as well. When I uploaded the default smiles.htm that came with the default theme that is in the 10.35 download that fixed it. All this weirdness. LOL. Again Martin thanks for your help. If I have any other weirdness like this, related to changing a theme or other stuff, I'll just make a new thread here for that specific issue that I need a 2nd hand solving. Curious assuming Blahdocs themes are old and not officialy 10.35 compatable, is there a good website to look for permade themes? just curious. Thanks

Thanks Martin. The reason why I didn't do what you asked in the 1st place was 2 things. 1) I got confused. Sorry. and 2) I thought that if I used a different smiles file that what came with the skin, the smiles page wouldn't look like the skin. I was wrong again. Sorry.

Now as far as you updating everything at blahdocs, do you suggest I redownload and reinstall the skin I am using again, or if the one I downloaded before you update it now works, leave it alone LOL.?

Finally, not that I would need or want any mods installed, but just to see what is available option wise, is there a good place to look for mods, vidualm functionality or otherwise? Just curious.

As far as skins, the skins on Blahdocs are great. I can usually find something I like or something I can start with base wise that I can modify to my taste. Just curious since there are only so many skins there, is your Blahdocs the only predone downlaodable skinning website at this point? Just curious. Currently have the BlueGlass skin installed now. Love it. Had some old Blutech skin instaleld from ages ago. Don't even see that skin downloadable any more. Redid my website recently sortof, thought it was time to update my BBS look. Again thanks for all the help and assuming it stays updated for a great companion website to this one blahdocs.
