Hi there,

I uploaded all files to my server with CuteFTP. Forum in ANSCII and Blahdocs in Binary. I checked also the CHMODs and set them correctly like described in the Install Doc. When I enter the adress  http:www.forum-freie-mystik.de/cgi-bin/forum/Setup.pl  I get the Welcome screen. So far so fine. But when I press the Install button I get always a 500 Internal Server Error. I tried with differnt Permissions like described here in the forum, but the results are always the same.
Can anyone help please?

Thank you.

p.s.: the directories on my server how the docs of the host told me (abolute paths):

/home/strato/www/fo/www.forum-freie-mystik.de/htdocs/cgi-bin/forum
/home/strato/www/fo/www.forum-freie-mystik.de/htdocs/blahdocs

So when you run Setup.pl it works?  And there's no error on that page?

Thank you for answering.

This text is shown in the browser window:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, service@webmailer.de and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Unfortunatly I have no idea, where I can get the server error log.

Sorry there might have been some miscommunication.  When you run Setup.pl do you get something like the following.  Or are there errors on this page.

Hi,

I also used CuteFTP to install my board.  I know when I got the screen that you're showing I made the mistake of hitting it twice when I saw it didn't remove setup.pl.  I got the 500 error that you got.  I removed all files on my site and did a complete reinstall and only hit install forum once.  I then removed the setup.pl through Cute.  I then went to the url my board should be at and it was there.

Did you try this?

Hi There!

Great!!!!  Now you have your forum    Just login with the username and password you chose in the setup and then go to your admin.  Start with your forum settings and go down the list.  It's really very easy!

Martin has been a wonderful person here to help me out whenever I made a post.  I d/l a new theme for the board and made a new header to fit that.  You can view mine here:
http://www.artistic-designers.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl

If you need more help on configuring your board, just pm me or post back and I'll do what I can.

Oh, to get the new themes here's the url for that:
http://www.blahdocs.com/Themes

The themes are very easy to install, they come with explicit directions on how to install.

I hope all of this helps.

It's recommended you change these right away.

----------------------

There should be a theme option in the Admin Settings.  If you are still getting a problem, your blahdocs folder is more than likely in the wrong place.  It should be in your htdocs, public_html, or WWW directory.

----------------------

Hope this helps

Unfortunatly nothing works. Not even one button. I get always the 500 Internal Server Error.
There was no intallation process either, where I could type in  username and password. I tried the ones pronounced (Adminstrator and admin) on the Installation doc on the Documentation Project.

I don't know what's really happens. But I get the screen above, when I call up the Blah.pl. in the browser.

Hi,

When you used setup.pl you didn't put in your username, password, email address etc?  None of that came up?

From the picture you posted earlier it looked like it said Install Forum Now??  Am I wrong on all of this?

Try and chmod all your directories and files to 755 and see if that works for now.

If not PM me your ftp username/pw and I'll try to help you out.
