I have just had to remove a user from my forums and ideally would also be able to remove all of their posts.
Is it possible to remove all of the posts of a user and what will be the effect on the continuity of threads etc?

I'm not sure if there is an automated feature to remove all posts by a specific user. That would be a good feature to implement. Maybe Justin will add this feature in an upcoming release of E-Blah. I know that you can click on the user's profile and click Find latest posts by this member, but I think you would have to remove each post manually. In essence, after you delete a member's post, it will keep the threads intact. However, it may be a bit confusing if the posts actually contributed to the thread. If they didn't, then it should not be a problem.

Even if your idea seems whack, stick with it and make it happen.

Thanks, I made the mistake of removing the user first so I lost the ability to find post by that user easily.
I then just startes with threads initiated by them and removed them then manually found most of the rest.

Has anyone discovered a way to easily delete all posts by a specific user? Is there any mod that I'm missing? Or is it still only done by deleting individual posts?

This was available, ages back.. But it did cause problems.. Say you have a user that has been active on your site for x- amount of time, and you then delete everthing he/she did, it screwed up the actual forum..

So you can delete a user, etc, but you would then need to by hand delete any post they left behind.

There's never been any such feature and would be a bad reason because it'll leave threads undone when you have replies to nothingness.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

ah good point. But if an admin needs to remove posts posted all over which are just spam links and no actual posts then it could be useful...
