Hi, I have a few q's, I hope you can help

1) Portal Setup - how do I delete boxes in the Portal Layout? Or at least reset it and start again? I accidentally have 3 of the same box, whoops.
2) Recent Posts - entire posts are displayed, where is the setting to clip them and have a 'Read more...' function?
3) Hide - an eBlah forum I was part of had this function, the code was [hide][/hide] and was really handy, how do I get that too?
4) Templates - this one being used here is really pretty, is it available for dl? Is there a gumby thing I can use where I just get to choose the colours and the rest gets done for me?
5) Sub-forums - I have more than 4 subforums in one area, how do I get it to display the hotlinks for the others on the main page?

TIA!

1) Go into the Portal setup and under Portal Layout you will see something like: Online Members with a X next to it. Just click on the X to delete it.

3) This is a mod I created called Simple Spoiler, I haven't tested it with the latest E-Blah so keep an eye on the MODS board.

5) If I recall, you will need to edit BoardIndex.pl.
Look for:

Code
if($subboards <= 4);

and change the 4, there will be 2 instances of this.

Awesome, cheers! I was using the Platinum Winter (Version 3) and it didn't have the little X to delete the boxes, I changed over to X2 and they appeared so I was able to sort it out. Will try out the code for the boards in the morning, night!

Ayla, are you running Windows? If you are, you can check out my template editor for E-Blah here. I made it to help with theme generation. If you have any questions, let me know.

I'm having trouble finding BoardIndex.pl , which directory is it in?

Also, the other person I run the board with wants to know if there is a setting that will open a new browser when a member clicks on a link in a post (instead of leaving the forum).

Hey there, I gave this a whirl but can't seem to get it to work. It shows up in my Themes but when I use it turns the forum into a white page with just basic links. I'm using E-Blah 10.3.5.

Hmmm... I will see if I can figure out what the issue is. I'll post back later when I figure out a solution.

Another question: is there a way I can prevent certain email domains from being used to join up? eg *@hotmail.com, *@yahoo.com, *@gmail.com

There isn't one that I know of. That would be a good feature to implement. I may take a look at doing that later with a mod.

Me again (you can tell I am setting up a new forum, can't you? )

Is there a mod I can put on that will show a visual indication of whether you have replied in a thread or not? eg on the vBulletin ones I've used they have an arrow on the folder if you've replied in that thread.

There is a mod for this, I wrote it some time ago. I have to update all mods really, just haven't had a lot of time. Keep an eye on the Mods Board.
