What does the 'resizeImg' function do and why does it need attaching to the window.onload event?

Just it overrides my body onload which then screws my navigation

I've commented it for now, is it needed?

It's not required, but it'll resize images that are posted.  For example:

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.
