I want to upgrade my forums from E-Blah Platinum 8.2 to the latest verison but want to keep the old url scheme!
is this possible?

With pre-10.3, I believe you can still use the old URL's and the new URL's. But with 10.3 or 10.3.3, that has been removed. The new URL's are bot friendly.
