Greetings.
First I wish to greet the founder of E-Blah engine and all E-Blah community.
in second:
I'm noob in forum making and supporting. All that stuff like Apache, MySQL, Perl, PHP - it's new for me.
But i really want to learn.
Thus i have some questions:
1. What are main differences between forum engine that use database (MySQL, PostgreeSQL or other) and forum engine that does not use such database?
2. If i want to deploy forum which will be used by approximately 30-40 person with about 50-70 posts per day, which version of E-Blah will be better (SQL or non-SQL)?
This forum will run on my own hardware, it's P-III 500/512Mb RAM. OS will be FreeBSD or linux.
3. I already download E-Blah 10.3.3 Release and now i'm "testing" it. My next question is about portal. What it is necessary to make, that on page of a portal the information began to be displayed? My portal page is pretty clean now.
4. How to add new smiles to forum? I tried to add them to \blahdocs\Smilies\ directory, but in administrator interface i don't get them.

P.S. Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.
Eugene aka r1vver.

1. The database is really only something that should be needed in very large forums.  It doesn't help that much in smaller forums.
2. I would use the main release, 10.3.3.
3. Go to Admin/Portal Setup.  Add/remove modules there.
4. Go to Admin/Smilies and add the smilies you add to the Smilies directory via the Admin Interface.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.
