Hello, I followed the instructions provided with Chat_10.v2m, but when I go to the mod center and type in "Chat_10.v2m" and then hit the "Save" button, I get this message. "The modification you entered is not valid. A valid modification must have a modname tag."
Am I doing something wrong, or what? I have E-Blah v10.3. If I'm wrong, please give me detailed instructions because I'm a newbie.
Thanks, kapii

You don't need to type anything? You upload the files, make sure chat_10.v2m is uploaded in ascii, and then you click on test install. If all is OK you install it. I don't understand why you are hitting the "Save" button. |

Because it says "From here you can attach a mod you downloaded from another site. Simply place the contents of the file in the textarea below, and click "Save". You should then see the new mod in the about box." That's the only way to do it that I'm aware of. There's no option to install it unless you do it that way. |

Can you please advise where I find:
Open /cgi-bin/cgi-chat/chat-settings.pl in Wordpad and change the following entries:
I am working on a Mac - does this make a difference. I am new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Your post doesn't make much sense.. You need to provide more information, what your trying to do, any errors, what you've done etc.. Also it should really have been a new thread, for the separate issue. |

I like a further understanding for the mod itself. The install was rather bland to me and didn't really tell you much of anything. Cazbo, look for whatever problem Mac uses to edit/create basic text documents, without any mark-up.
Quoted Text
1. $chatURL = " http://www.yoursite.com/chat";2. $chatIndexpath="/your chat location"; 3. $blahURL = "/your Blah root"; 4. Adjust any other settings to suite. Copy the cgi-chat folder to your cgi-bin in ASCII and chmod all .pl files to 755 Copy the chat folder to your public_html in BINARY and chmod chat-template.htm to 666 Copy the Chat_10.v2m to your Mods folder in ASCII
I currently don't have a CHAT on my sit, so what are the chat locations for? For where i upload my chat folder in that zip??? It just assumes you knew what was intended, and evidently we don't. I'd appreciate a more thorough help. |
