The following warning was received when running setup.pl-

WARNING!
Your forum may not work properly if you continue. Setup recommends editing the path to directories in Settings.pl and then refreshing this page until this message disappears. There was a problem verifying that the following directories exist:

Avatars Currently set to: /blahdocs/Avatars
uploads Currently set to: /blahdocs/uploads
template Currently set to: /blahdocs/template
The following may help you figure out what your paths are:
Document Root:
Script name: E:\CustomerData\webspaces\webspace_00113226\wwwroot\cgi-bin\forum\Setup.pl
Please note that not all server report the above information correctly.

For the quickest support on the E-Blah Support Forum, PLEASE copy and past everything in this red box.

The direction "editing the path to directories in Settings.pl " doesn't make sense because there are no directories in Settings.pl.

Change the $blahdocs2 variable in Settings.pl to:

E:/CustomerData/webspaces/webspace_00113226/wwwroot/blahdocs/

Good news and bad news. Your fix worked! The bad news is that when I proceeded to set up the bulletin board, I received a fatal error, supposedly because the software stated it could not write to the 'Boards' folder.  Upon changing the permission to Read and Write, I received the message that the bulletin board had already been set up, although it was basically a template.

Although it doesn't seem applicable, I was unable to change permissions of the Modules, BHITs and HITS folders. I have sent a request to technical support of dotster.com with error messages I received. The server being used is a Windows server. I'm thinking the path name might be too long and that I have to find another host. I would choose a Linux host since I've been very successful with eblah running on a Linux server.

Am I beyond hope with this particular server? I don't mind paying you to upload the software, but I'm not optimistic that you would be successful with this server either. I look forward to hearing from you.

If you have access to the server admin-panel, I should be able to install it.  I normally am able to, though it takes a little more patience.

Remove EVERYTHING from the Prefs directory, readd those two directories, and also make sure every other directory is emptied.  Then go and reset the permissions to read/write on all of the directories and sub-directories under the /forum directory.  That should get you thru the setup. Just make certain you have those set before you run the install.
