I am helping someone test an installation of E-Blah, and have (so far) come across a few minor problems which might be bugs.  Is this the correct place to post them?  If not, could someone move this post?  I would point out that I have a reputation for pedantry=nit-picking!

Niggle 1: localisation of dates and times
Although better than some/most, it seems that there is a modicum of US-centricity in the forum (like requiring the member's birth date to be supplied in the mm dd yyyy format).  Could there not be more date and time options appropriate for the country of installation of the board?  The UK short date and time format is dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm (no comma between date and time), and it should also be possible to have a date format which produces Friday 23rd November 2007 for today.

Niggle 2: checking of user-name
When registering, I was told quite happily that JG-testuser was available, but that when I came to click on Save I was told the Screen Name contained an invalid character!  Surely some validation should be done on the originally-entered screen name?

Niggle 3: Personal Message validation incorrect
When entering a "personal message containing double quotes" (and also a colon, :) I was told that I had entered more than the allowable 50 characters.  Removing the double-quotes and the colon caused the message to be accepted (and, no, the original message wasn't 52 characters!).

Thanks!

Thank you - I shall point this out to my board installer (a reference would assist the ignorant - thanks!).

John

Later:
I have found the Advanced Date/Time Format in the Members Center, which is almost exactly what I want, but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent function in the Admin Center...

If you want another...!

Niggle 4: two blanks instead of one between the date and the time format specifiers in Member Center ...> Date and Time format
l dS F Y H:i:s
gives
Friday 23rd November 2007&11b13p;&11b13p;21:30:13
instead of
Friday 23rd November 2007 21:30:13

Thanks!

John

PS  The Birthday Mod doesn't actually deal entirely with the point I was suggesting, namely, the facility to localise date and time across the entire board!

Ok ... I've worked on this finally.

#1: I didn't do exactly what you wanted with changing the dates around (dd/mm/yyyy), but I did add another variable for times, E.  E is identical to S, but E will do the superscript for you.  The Administrator center finally gets rid of the old way, but I am not adding the fancy AJAX stuff that the Member Center has -- the Admin Center.

#2: This should be fixed now.  I had to encode the -, it should also help fix other issues that may have been a problem with that type of validation.

#3: I could not replicate this anywhere, I'm not sure where you mean?

#4: I couldn't replicate this one either.  That format works perfectly fine for me.
