My host is changing their software and with the changes, my forums occasionally get messed up. The most recent problem was losing a good portion of the posts. I want to set something up to automatically do a backup of my forum each night, if possible, keeping a steady rotation of 3 or 4 backups, deleting the oldest. I can create CronJobs on my server. Does anyone have an idea for this? Would a cronjob work? Is there already something written in the forum software (like the backup section in the admin panel) that I could use to do this? Anyone good at scripts that could write a script that I could automate to do this?
