I hope this is the correct place to post my question.  I wish to split the hosting of my site and forum, i.e. I want my website to reside on my paid hosting server but host my forum myself on my personal web server.  I have an existing working forum and site on my personal server.  What changes will I need to make in the forum admin settings to split them.

Thanks!

Just make the forum go to your personal server.  That should work fine.  You might can make a subdomain that points to your personal server (like forum.mysite.com), but you'll have to figure out how to do that because it's different for every host (a redirecting domain should NEVER be used).

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Thanks Justin!  I registered a new CNAME with my registrar, created the subdomain in apache, made the change in the Forum Settings and it's working great!  Thank you!
