[b][/b]On my return from holiday I’m told by the site owner that he cannot log on or read any of the threads.  All the threads written by him are now marked “by 2” instead of Paul.  We both were Administrators and my status now has changed to Moderator.  I can still get in Admin center but cannot find where or how to alter things back as they were.  All other members report the same problem when they try to open a thread.  The error I get is:

Problem Verifying your Access to this Board
If this board uses verification, you must use a valid username.

This message has been deleted or is invalid
If you are unsure if this message has been deleted, you should contact the forums administrator.

I’d really appreciate if someone could take the time to have a look and sort it for me and perhaps point me in the direction as to why it may have happened, before I ask Justin to upgrade to the latest version.

sounds like you may have run into a web space issue? Have you done a re-build of your boards/members?

While I did rebuild the members list, I didn’t rebuild the boards.  Now we can all read the threads, thanks.  I will add your info to my do list just I case it happens again.

Now I’d like to know if it is possible to change all the thread made by the site owner that at this stage just shows a number 2 under author?

Justin maybe able to help more on this. But the number "2" that you see is the original members number, it has to show some information, or the original thread  would be wrong

Apologies for not coming back and thank you all for your help.  (due to ill health)  I read the thread Justin posted but it has gone over my head somewhat.  I now assume that all the post made by “Author 2” (originally pppdrive) cannot be attributed back to him.  If anyone know/found a way, I’d like to know.

Fixed the pppdrive problem, had a 0 byte .dat files so I just created one.

If They are both current members then they need to go to the Member Center and reset their profile information.
I have pmed you their password.

I knew I had to come back to this tread as soon as I got in our forum and seen the lost ones reappeared.

What I’d like to know is if there was no data in the .dat file, where did you get the data to make it up?
I have pressed the “Backup Forum” icon many times but never found out where the backup was.  Can you point me to it?
I sent PM to Justin to upgrade our forum.
