After previously asking questions on migration to a new server (and giving up), this time it really does need to happen.

I am having problems getting my forum to display any theme's or images. I have gone through my settings files and assume that everything is as it should be:

Quoted Text

####### Directories Sets #######

$root = ".";
$code = "./Code";
$boards = "./Boards";
$prefs = "./Prefs";
$members = "./Members";
$messages = "./Messages";
$modsdir = "./Mods";
$images = "/blahdocs/images";
$simages = "/blahdocs/Smilies";
$avsurl = "/blahdocs/Avatars";
$avdir = "/blahdocs/Avatars";
$realurl = "http://194.154.164.100/~austin1100@ado16.info/cgi-bin/blah/";
$bdocsdir = "/blahdocs";
$helpdesk = "/helpdoc";
$languages = "./Languages";
$templates = "http://194.154.164.100/~austin1100@ado16.info/public_html";
$templatesu = "/blahdocs/template";
$buttons = "/blahdocs/buttons";
$bdocsdir2 = "http://194.154.164.100/~austin1100@ado16.info/public_html/blahdocs";

So I thought I'd install a fresh install then upload the appropriate files, yet on install it came up with the following:

WARNING!
Your forum may not work properly if you continue. Setup recommends editing the path to directories in Settings.pl and then refreshing this page until this message disappears. There was a problem verifying that the following directories exist:
# Avatars Currently set to: /websites/symlinks/blahdocs/Avatars
# uploads Currently set to: /websites/symlinks/blahdocs/uploads
# template Currently set to: /websites/symlinks/blahdocs/template
The following may help you figure out what your paths are:
Document Root: /websites/symlinks
Script name: /websites/LinuxPackage02/ad/o1/6_/ado16.info/cgi-bin/Blah/Setup.pl
Please note that not all server report the above information correctly.

For the quickest support on the E-Blah Support Forum, PLEASE copy and past everything in this red box.

The version I am trying to get working with themes is available here:

HELP!

Cheers,

Michael

Those HTTP URI's are going to work.  You need to use directories for the blahdocs directory.  They SHOULD be automatically added for you most of the time.

I do installs for $25 and upgrades for $20.

Ok still having problem with this blasted forum change. I am no on my correct webhost. I've got the bare bones of the forum working: http://www.austinmetro.org.uk

None of the images are working, I've tried altering the locations of the files and it's not having any of it.

I have my forum uploaded in the cgi-bin, and all of the other files uploaded to public_html.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My current settings.pl looks like this:

####### Directories Sets #######
$root = ".";
$code = "./Code";
$boards = "./Boards";
$prefs = "./Prefs";
$members = "./Members";
$messages = "./Messages";
$modsdir = "./Mods";
$images = "/blahdocs/images";
$simages = "/blahdocs/Smilies";
$avsurl = "/blahdocs/Avatars";
$avdir = "/blahdocs/Avatars";
$realurl = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/cgi-bin/Blah/";
$bdocsdir = "/blahdocs";
$helpdesk = "/helpdoc";
$languages = "./Languages";
$templates = "/blahdocs/template";
$templatesu = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/public_html/blahdocs/template";
$buttons = "/blahdocs/buttons";
$bdocsdir2 = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/public_html/blahdocs";

But if on the forum you right click an image that's missing, the address that appears is incorrect. i.e.

http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/blahdocs/images/feed.png

Should be:
http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/public_html/blahdocs/images/feed.png

Thanks,

Michael

Move blahdocs outside of the public_html directory.

Ok, have done that...

Now I get some images working - but others aren't. And the theme is still not there.

I have altered a few locations as per previous threads I found.

####### Directories Sets #######
$root = ".";
$code = "./Code";
$boards = "./Boards";
$prefs = "./Prefs";
$members = "./Members";
$messages = "./Messages";
$modsdir = "./Mods";

$bdocsdir = "/blahdocs";
$helpdesk = "/helpdoc";
$languages = "./Languages";
$templates = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/blahdocs/template";
$templatesu = "/blahdocs/template";
$buttons = "/blahdocs/buttons";
$bdocsdir2 = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/blahdocs";

Cheers,

I've tried that but get the following error

Sorry, but an error occurred. If you are unsure about how to solve this error you can contact the system administrator.
     The theme you chose is invalid.

Change the templates directory to:

/websites/LinuxPackage02/ad/o1/6_/ado16.info/public_html/blahdocs/templates

I'm not sure if that's right though, you might should contact your host to the path to the public_html directory.

I'm not using that particular package anymore. I swapped (hence why the addresses etc are shorter), it was too complicated to get tings working correctly.

I'm just stumped on getting this last little bit up and running now

You will need to contact your host for the path then.  You cannot use URL's for directories, it will not work.

So,

What is wrong in this directory set?

####### Directories Sets #######
$root = ".";
$code = "./Code";
$boards = "./Boards";
$prefs = "./Prefs";
$members = "./Members";
$messages = "./Messages";
$modsdir = "./Mods";
$images = "/blahdocs/images";
$simages = "/blahdocs/Smilies";
$avsurl = "/blahdocs/Avatars";
$avdir = "/blahdocs/Avatars";
$realurl = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/cgi-bin/Blah/";
$bdocsdir = "/blahdocs";
$helpdesk = "/helpdoc";
$languages = "./Languages";
$templates = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/blahdocs/template";
$templatesu = "/blahdocs/template";
$buttons = "/blahdocs/buttons";
$bdocsdir2 = "http://www.austinmetro.org.uk/blahdocs";

Regards,

Michael

Several of them.  $templates, $bdocsdir2, etc.  They are URL's and not DIR's ...
