This has been working fine, but i added a new event for this saturday 8th and it's not showing on the homepage. i have an event on the 11th that is showing. the new event WAS on the calendar page, but has now disappeared. it's all gone a bit random.....

oh and i'm using the latest nightly

yes it's in the manage events list. if the recurring event box is ticked it shows on the calendar, if not recurring it doesn't show on the calendar. it also doesn't show on the upcoming events newsfeed ticked or unticked.
