MD5 is an encryption algorythm. It's better than PERL's CRYPT function, because you can use longer passwords. Try the Encrypt Member Passwords link in your admin panel. Then chose MD5. If it's not installed, you'll just get an error. If it is, you can use longer passwords, and member passwords are secure.

I tried it said I was not authorized logged out logged in and tried again and said already encrypted.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I just went backwards

renamed prefs to prefs_old uploaded prefs from old board went backwards

Deleted renames new back to prefs now all messed up. Did not recover.

I should have left well enough alone

Go to Admin (http://www.salemsites.com//rt2maine/coffeeshop/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?v-admin the link won't show up) and refresh the themes.

I can't get into the admin it has no link

Try renaming ThemesList.txt in Prefs to ThemesList.old. Then visit home and see if that helps anything. I'm kind of guessing here, I haven't had this problem.

I think I will leave things the way they are although I have my old prefs in there now.
