Either you don't have cgi enabled or you forgot to chmod Setup.pl to 755

Blah.pl also needs to be chmod to 755 and Settings.pl to 666

ok just tried a simple test, uploaded a really simple mailing script and chmodded it to 755, showed me the text version of the file, it would appear that cgi is not enabled as you suggested but how to enable it... i have no idea, any suggestions on the usual procedure?

There are usually 2 options when it comes to enabling scripts, 1 is in your control panel and 2 is to contact your host but it if the type of account allows it, it is usually on by default.

First step is to login to your control panel and use the help.

You are getting a 404 because you are going to the wrong file.  There is no setup.pl on your server.  It is Setup.pl

If you go to this address, it works:
http://www.w8k8.com/cgi-bin/forum/Setup.pl
