Changing it to 644 made the avatar show up. Did I set up my forum wrong...?

Actually that's another problem, attached files do not show and I get an 403 "Forbidden" error when I try to download the file by clicking on it. I checked through my FTP and the file is there in the UPLOADS folder... but its chmod is also 600 ! Yes I asked them and they said I could chmod it with code by modifying the code lol (I know a bit of PHP but I'm a total newbie in Perl !)
