I'm used to IPB and can design mods for it. I host alot of IPB boards and I have no clue how to run perl scripts on my cluster =[

So is e blah easy to skin? I want to have it have my sites basic header design and such. Also is the sql version better then using a flat file database? We have multiple mysql servers so I wouldn't mind taking advantage of that.

Yes, the headers can be changed through an easy site wide template.  It shouldn't be too difficult to modify as long as you know a little basic XHTML and CSS.

The SQL version and flat-file version as basically the same, but SQL is more scalable.

Yes, it uses little resources.  For the MySQL version, you'll need the DBI modules, but your server probably already has them.  And E-Blah is very easy to integrate into your website.
