Hi there! I managed after a bit of messing around to successfully install version 10.5.2. I had to manually remove setup.pl as an error was generated. I then went to start the forum but got the following:

"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@roadtobethlehem.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

The url is "http://www.roadtobethlehem.org/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl". The IP is 202.60.86.66. The server is running Apache. Eblah was uploaded using SmartFTP.

Unfortunately I know little about the server that http://www.roadtobethlehem.org resides on. I took over this site last year but I'm not sure at this stage who administers the server. I was just given the IP, username and password.

So if someone can either help me get the forum up and running or let me know what to ask/tell the administrator when I find him/her I would be very grateful!

PM me the ftp details and I'll fix it for you.  Assuming the server isn't configured weirdly

It would be good if you could get some logs.

Did you change anything in Setup.pl?

I didn't modify setup.pl but I did have to create some directories that weren't created by the zip file as initially setup reported not finding them and wouldn't go any further.

They were:
/Forum/Mods/Modules
/Forum/Prefs/BHITS
/Forum/Prefs/HITS
/Blahdocs/Random
/Blahdocs/uploads
/Blahdocs/uploads/thumbnails

In Blah.pl remove the # before this line: use CGI::Carp fatalsToBrowser; then try running it.  Report the error that is produced.

When I opened Blah.pl there was only the following:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!--TransferQueueItems-->
<Items><Version>1</Version></Items>

I have no idea how the file got corrupted. So I extracted the file from the zip again, uploaded it and lo and behold my forum is up and running!

Thanks Justin for pointing out that Blah.pl had more than just three lines and thanks Ryan for offering to fix it for me.

Funny how it's always something simple and/or stupid...
